Hot seat
I am - quite literally - in the hot seat today. Down at Worthing head office for press day, by 10am I was on my third 'hot desk' in two hours, and now seem to have ended up in my boss's chair, which is largely terrifying. God help me if I disturb anything or pull out the wrong plug trying to set up my poor confused little laptop ("just pick a desk, Sarah, and for god's sake stay there," it's muttering at me).
We seem to have - dare I say it - just about gone to press at 2.45pm, which makes it a near record and means I can tentatively start actually looking forward to my holiday next week. Travelling daughter doesn't have to return to her friends' yacht to help them get through the Bay of Biscay, thank heavens, so is Planning Her Future back at home in Plymouth and, hopefully, remembering she needs to head for Kent, me and Gatwick sometime soon.
Monkey is suffering terribly in this weather from the dreaded hay fever - anyone out there with any top tips, that don't cost the earth/make you fall asleep comatose at your desk? For someone who adores the summer and the great outdoors, it makes it particularly hellish at this time of year and I really sympathise.
